Werewolves are a big threat in the worlds I build, mainly because they are prone to pyromania and rabies. So you can imagine how difficult it was to slay this particular beast with my sword.
As far as the legends go, they are created when a wild dog forgets how to reproduce and starts laying eggs.
Of course, these creatures in my work act as metaphors for things that frighten me, and which I can’t express with simple words. How liberating it was to simply decapitate it and place it on the floor, as a monument to my fighting abilities.
About Esther’s latest obsession is Muay Thai Boxing. So when she’s not busy with painting utopian, medieval inspired paintings or reading trashy horror books from the 80’s, she’s practicing her tornado-kicks. She’s currently parting her time between Berlin and the Culterim Artist Residency, Biesenthal.
